THE IMPACT OF TRADE LIBERALISATION ON THE ECONOMIC PERFORMANCE OF ASEAN COUNTRIES
After the Asian crisis of 1998, the countries affected by the crisis showed the higher level of openness. In addition to domestic products exported, the flow of foreign goods into the country entered profusely. Is trade liberalization encourages economic growth and increasing trade? Trade growth is believed to be the driving economic growth in developing countries. However, when the increase is in import growth is higher than export growth, the developing countries experienced a deteriorating balance of trade and the value of the domestic currency to depreciate. Whether such conditions should be accepted as a developing country or reviews those conditions should be changed so that a developing country into a prosperous country.
